Why a sign helps
Many voters don’t realize there’s a school trustee race until they’re holding the ballot. A sign on your lawn reminds your neighbours that the race exists, and who to vote for.
Hamilton’s election sign rules
- Signs can go up from Monday, September 28 and must come down by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
- On a residential property, a sign can be up to 1.5 m².
- Signs go on private property, or the boulevard in front of it, with the owner’s or occupant’s permission.
- Signs can’t block the view of drivers, pedestrians or traffic signals, and can’t be placed at a voting location on voting days.
